Students will explore the Florida dairy industry, including breeds of dairy cattle and the significance the dairy industry has in the state.
Objectives
Students will:
- Describe the importance of dairy in Florida.
- Identify and distinguish between the five major breeds of dairy cattle and explain why these breeds were developed.
- Present facts about dairy breeds and the Florida dairy industry in an oral presentation.
- Use the Internet to obtain information about Florida’s dairy industry.
Duration
Activity 1: 40-60 minutes for research, writing and map making; 25-30 minutes for reporting
