Making Milk

Overview

In this lesson, students will learn about the milking process, composition of milk and how the dairy product goes from the animal to the table.

Objectives

Students will:

  1. Order the milking process from start to finish.
  2. Describe the composition of milk.
  3. Articulate why water weighs more than milk at equal volumes.

Duration

Introduction/Activating Strategy: 15 minutes
Activity 1: 20-25 minutes
Activity 2: 20-25 minutes
Activity 3: 15 minutes
