Grants Available August 1st

Florida Agriculture in the Classroom will have two different grants available for teachers this school year; School Garden Grants and Teacher Grants.

School Garden Grants will a flat $500 grant to be used in edible school gardens. The funds can be used for seeds, seedlings and gardening supplies. The online application will require you to list the following:

  • Your information (including school).
  • Administration and bookkeeper information.
  • Projects purpose and description.
  • Educational standards that will be taught using the garden.
  • Detailed budget that must be itemized and equal $500.
  • Detailed timeline that shows us you have thought the entire project out from start to finish for the school year .

Teacher Grants can be for any amount up to $5,000. The projects can be school garden or any other agriculture themed project. The application must be typed up, including a letter of support from an administrator, copied and mailed. The application will require the following:

  • Your information (including school).
  • Administration and bookkeeper information.
  • Projects purpose and description.
  • Measurable outcomes.
  • Educational standards that will be taught using the project.
  • Community support/Agriculture support.
  • Detailed budget that must equal your requested amount. It needs to be itemized in case we can only fund part of the project.
  • In-Kind – This is donated items and time. This is required under your budget in order to be considered.
  • Detailed timeline that shows us you have thought the entire project out from start to finish for the school year.
  • Photo of project location.
