FAITC’s Inaugural Recipe Contest Was a Success

Florida Agriculture in the Classroom held it’s inaugural recipe contest this spring. The goal of this project is to expose students to growing their own produce and encourage healthy eating habits. Students and teachers worked together to create easily replicated, healthy recipes that teach students healthy cooking skills and introduce fun ways to eat garden produce.

We had many delicious recipe entries and three winners were chosen. Congratulations to Christa McCauliffe Middle, Joella C. Good Elementary and Dr. NH Jones Elementary for being our winners!

The recipe book is now available. If you would like a copy please email Becky at sponholtz@agtag.org. Please include your name, school and address.

The 2020 Recipe Contest information will be available later this fall. If you have a school garden think about fun ways you can eat the produce you harvest!
