Florida Agriculture in the Classroom, Inc.’s 2013 Annual Report is now online. ┬áCheck out how your ‘Ag Tag’ dollars were put to work in 2013.

  • FAITC reached more than 5,800 teachers and 157,000 students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.
  • Our new website went live with more than 100 free lessons searchable by grade level, subject area and commodity.
  • New workshops were held that gave teachers language arts, math, science and social studies lessons tied to food, fiber and fuel and then the teachers were taken to the farms to see how these products were produced.
  • Gardening for Grades school garden curriculum, workshops and grant money helped teachers start and maintain school gardens and use them in their classroom instruction.
  • The 2013 Florida Agriculture Literacy Day’s book commemorated the 500th year anniversary of Ponce de Leon’s discovery of Florida and highlighted the role agriculture has played in the state’s history.

FAITC was able to provide all of these programs and more free of charge or for a nominal fee thanks to the funding it receives from the sales of the ‘Ag Tag’. ┬áTo learn more about what we accomplished this year check out our the 2013 annual report.
