Bean Mosaic


Brief Description
The bean mosaic teaches students the differences in seed types (size, shape, color, etc.). Also, the bean mosaic is a great opportunity to teach counting and measurement skills.

Objectives: The student will be able to:

  • Identify the differences in seeds. (size, shape, color, etc.)
  • Count items by twos, threes, fives, and/or tens
  • Create an artistic arrangement using a template.


Step-by-Step Pictures:



STEP ONE: Gather your supplies: various beans and seeds (corn, soybeans, sunflower, squash, popcorn, split green peas), glue, and the downloaded bean mosaic design.
